Return to Coldfoot

A Demon Truck!

Notice the little spot in the center of the pic, on the road. That's Dennis on his wheezing KLR. He's fixn' to be lunch for the Demon Trucker!

The closer we get to Atigun Pass, the sloppier it starts to get.

I would later regret passing this truck.

The going is pretty sloppy here, but still managable, but just after I made the pass I hit the final ascent up Atigun Pass on some of the most slippery stuff I've ever ridden in. They had just dropped some brand new, black/brown, gooey oatmeal looking stuff about 3 inches deep on the road, and I ended up downshifting to 2nd and feet on the pegs (sorry, no pics). My bike was all over the place and that demon trucker I had just passed is right on my ass. The normal stress of dropping the bike wasn't enough, what I needed was the extra stress of knowing that if I went down, the Demon Trucker was going to flatten me into a muddy, bloody pancake. But as you can tell by reading these words, I survived it to tell the tale!

Solid footing at last

And after a mosquito break, off we go to Coldfoot!
