This section is the campout near Ninilchik. It was one of the best camps yet. It was getting late and we didn't think we would hit Homer in time, so we started looking for a place to call it a day. We saw a real, non-descript "RV Park" on the west side of the street, with a lit sign, but no RV's or anything, so, taking the chance, I banged on the front door of the small residence and asked if they had any tent camping. "Sure we do, just pitch them anywhere you want back there", she said, pointing to the cleared field facing the water. "Can we ride the bikes down there?", I ask. No problem! $10 a night and they even had a shower! The view, as you'll see in the photo's was stunning. It was a clear view across the Cook Channel looking into the Lake Clark National Park and Mt lliamna. Awesome, quiet, peaceful, stunning.
So as we roll the bikes down the hill this is the first thing we see. Can you see the mooses (a mama and two babies)?

I increased the gamma correction a bit on this jpg to bring out the watch. Midnight and this is about as dark as it gets. The sun sets for a l o n g time!

And this is what it looks like with the sun on the other side of the planet.

With a campsite like this, there's just no hurry to break camp in the morning.
