Billy the Mountain!

Rather than being Atigun, this is the climb up to the Chandalar Shelf. The pullout at the bottom, where you photographed the Kenworth with the hood open, is the location of what used to be the "Farthest North Spruce Tree" on the Haul Road. After ascending to the Chandalar Shelf, there are a few more miles of relatively gentle grades before the actual ascent of Atigun.





This pullout is right at the bottom of the Ice Cut, at the top of which starts the cobblestone pavement for most of the next 80 miles or so to Deadhorse.
