Back to Alaska!

It's funny how scenery changes at political borders and Alaska is no exception. Dropping back into Alaska shows noticable changes to the geography.

The sign that you can't read here says "US Customs, 1/4 mile ahead".

This device here a fish wheel. The big basket you see on the top has an identical one below the water surface and they rotate, powered by the force of the water. Fish get trapped in the bucket, and as the bucket rises, the fish fall from the basket into that little v-shaped ramp, and slide into catch buckets on either side.

Here's one from the side.

Hope you can make out the text.
